Emma Sheardown
Born with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, doctors predicted that Emma would never walk or talk – but by the age of 6 she took her first ‘solo’ steps and hasn’t looked back since.
Emma developed a passion for the sport of Para Dressage and was selected onto the Great Britain development programme. Emma progressed quickly in the sport representing Great Britain at World and European Championships, she became both World and European Champion!
Emma now spends her time as a motivational and disability inclusion speaker, using her story and experiences to motivate and inspire her audiences as well as educating them to become disability confident.
Emma has spoken for organisations including Vodafone, the National Memorial Arboretum, the Royal British Legion and National Grid, speaking on subjects including There’s No Such Word As Can’t, Disability Friends and Don’t ‘Dis’ Ability. She was also privileged to speak on the TEDx stage and is also a published author.
