Preparing and planning for 2026
Now’s a good time to be preparing and planning for what you’ve got happening in the new year.
For me, I can talk about my No BS Media Summit which is in November 2026. This is the second summit, which I’m really looking forward to. It’s an opportunity to tell your stories to some of the worlds story-tellers. My first one last year was a great success and several of the people who attended have since had wonderful press and pr opportunities, thanks to the journalists that were present. All of the early bird tickets have gone, but if you’re still interested and would like to book onto this year’s summit in November, the cost starts at £660.00. What events have you got coming up in your business this year?
As I mentioned, now is the time to start planning for your stories and also for photographs to go with those stories. For example if you’re having an event that is already booked in your diary – book a photographer now, before they get too busy. Especially if it is a business birthday or something that would be of interest to the local press – make sure you’re going to have professional photographs. Consider working with a local professional photographer to build your own library of stock photos that are yours alone.
*Are you planning on introducing new products or services?
Then again, you’ll need professional photographs to go on your website, and on any printed materials that you might send to clients and customers.
*Also, if you have these events, plan ahead for the blogs and social media posts that you can do during that time. Posts leading up to the event, building up interest in what’s coming, and then photos of the event to ‘showcase’ the celebration/ new product or service, afterwards.
*If you know that you’re going to expand your business and take on new staff or apprentices, arrange for a new set of photos for your staff so that everyone has new images at the same time with a similar background or setting.
*Is your business sport-related? If so, are there social media posts and events such as the Commonwealth Games that you can comment on?
*Are you planning to start supporting, or continuing to support a particular charity? Have you got any events with them or in aid of them? Again, make sure that you plan well ahead in terms of publicity, social media posts and photography.
