Those who know me well, will know that ‘NO BS’ is a saying used regularly here at Scott Media HQ.

Public relations often gets misunderstood but real practical PR is about shaping meaningful connections between businesses, their communities, all audiences and the public. At its core, good PR builds trust and credibility.

This can be through media coverage however it is also about all other aspects of marketing. However, PR isn’t about selling. In truth, it’s about making connections, authenticity, consistency and most importantly of all VISIBILITY.

My last NO BS Media Summit was such a success that I’ve decided to host another in November this year. We will be working with five journalists covering specific areas of interest: business, human interest stories, features; USA and Australian media and tv news. These journalist will spend dedicated and personalised time with each attendees to help them understand how to build a reputable business relationship with journalists and what those journalists need – and do not need.

The planning is still evolving but we are excited to share as much info about the event as we can. The dates for the next NO BS Media Summit are the 11th and 12th November 2026 at the Doubletree by Hilton, Swindon and the fees include all food and drinks, a buffet lunch and a charity social dinner on the evening of November 11.

This opportunity to meet credible working journalists who are exceptional practitioners of their craft in the national and international media today and these opportunities do not come up often. They are few and far between. Since the last summit, attendees have had coverage at a local, regional and national level worth at least £1million.

There will be a maximum of 30 business owners, experts, representatives of charities or not for profits and fellow PR professionals who will get to spend time with these journalists. Already, we have twenty-one people booked on for the two-day event and spaces are filling quickly. Details of the journalists who will be attending will be shared in an upcoming blog.

Thirty may sound like a small number, but the team and I have done this intentionally so that each person is seen, heard and equally included in the group activities.

Day 1 – The Day Of The Journalists – will be listening to those journalists talking about themselves and the stories they are looking for and what they are looking for. They will share examples of the stories they tell and some PR advice from them. Then the afternoon will be spent learning about the modern media – with members of the media – when we will talk about stories, personal relationships with the media and the pros and cons of AI when working with the media.

In the evening there will be a social three course dinner with a charity raffle to build relationships and just have a good time. This is entirely optional and it’s free for attendees who wish to be part of it (partners can attend but will attract a fee for the evening).

Day 2 – The Day Of The Stories – will include listening to three business people sharing their stories and their tips on how to be visible and how they have, or are, using their own life experience and business to be visible. Then we will all working on a pitch, and everyone can decide if they wish to pitch one of their stories in a ‘press dragons’ den’ event (this will be entirely optional). Two of the journalists from day one will be staying for day two to work with all attendees.

The two-day event is £1020 including VAT and is a valuable opportunity to learn, engage and make connections. The fee includes all food and drink for the event however it does not include accommodation. We will be able to book rooms in the hotel with some at a discounted rate. There is also a Premier Inn within walking distance.

Due to costs incurred there is a no refund policy on this event. If you are interested in joining us book here or email
