PR HOOKS FOR JUNE

Posted on June 1, 2026 by Categories: PR Tags: , , ,

June is a month filled with prosperity. It symbolises love, balance and the start of Summer. June is named after The Roman Goddess Juno; the goddess of marriage, fertility and childbirth. This is why June has historically been the most popular month for weddings. It also marks the official start of the Summer Solstice, symbolising light, energy, and peak life-force. The Summer Solstice is the day with the longest period of daylight and the shortest night of the year. It’s also identified by the sun being at its highest position in the sky. Speaking of weddings, June has more than one birth flower. The Rose and Honeysuckle. Both flowers reach their peak in June, and they’re well recognised by their beautiful colours and strong fragrance. June is halfway through the year and for many is associated with longer days, bright sunlight and nature bursting into vibrant colours.

There’s no doubt that June is a month inviting reflection. The main birthstones for June are Moonstone, Pearl and Alexandrite. Moonstone represents intuition, cycles and feminine energy, it was also used as an alternative to Pearl. In many ancient civilizations the people believed that moonstone was made of solidified moonlight. Whereas Pearl represents wisdom, purity and transformation. Alexandrite is a great stone for intuition, imagination and good fortune. It’s clear that the month’s energy invites reflection on how the year has been so far and where you are heading next. Use this time to think about what’s worked well in your business this year and what you want to develop.

June is also Pride month so if this is relevant to you, your loved ones or your business – shout about it.

It’s also Father’s Day and if it’s appropriate, you can talk about being a father, your relationship with your father (just take care not to say anything negative about someone who is still alive.) More good themes this month include Men’s Health Month and National Age Without Apology Month.

Think about how you personally and professionally engage with these topics. Create social media posts. Engage with your audience. Our diary/planner is a great place to look for a more detailed breakdown. Anything you do needs to be documented and shared from start to finish. This can turn into multiple stories, which is easier when pitching to journalists. Please remember to check on a calendar as dates can vary from year to year.
