Did the Summit journalists get anything out of it?

I was extremely pleased to have a great line up of national journalists for my inaugural No BS Media Summit back in February. This is their feedback on the day, about how they found the experience.

Anita Jaynes, the founder of TBE Swindon and Wiltshire and TBE Bath and Somerset

‘The No BS Media Summit 2025 was a highly professional event, giving unrivalled access to both local and national journalists. The size of the event ensured that each delegate had the opportunity to talk to the journalists and start to build a rapport.

I attended as a journalist on the panel and was blown away by the stories in the room. For many, it was the first time they had shared their tales, some deeply personal, but Fiona and the team created a safe, warm environment where people felt confident and empowered to do so.

As a result of the day, I have already shared stories from people in the room and I’m working with one of the fellow speakers on a future event.

The two days were empowering for everyone in the room, and I would recommend the event to anyone trying to build their personal or business profile.

I would go as far as saying the No BS Media Summit is priceless. It’s very hard to put a value on both the knowledge imparted and the value given back to many in the room, from column inches to new connections and friendships/ partnerships made. Gold dust!’

Matt Barbour an award-winning journalist who writes for national newspapers and magazines.

“The Media Summit organised by Fiona Scott last month was one of the most invaluable, positive, friendly events of this type that I’ve attended. The engagement with the audience, all of whom had their own amazing stories and brands, made the day simply fly by, and hearing the backgrounds and insights from the other journalists talking there was fascinating.

I’m in no doubt that everyone who attended will take away a huge amount from the event – if only they were all like this!’

Liz Perkins, the night news editor of the Daily Express and freelance journalist for the Sunday Telegraph.

‘The highlight of the No BS media summit for me was listening to the stories of those who were at the event. It’s always a privilege telling someone’s story through a national newspaper or magazine and it was moving to hear what they had been through and the way in which they revealed their experiences so openly and honesty. I think the Dragon’s Den session showed how much people had learned during the course of the summit that the power of narrative can showcase their businesses through the media in a different way. By doing so it ensures they get greater coverage for their firms going forward.’

Dan Martin who is a freelance small business journalist and head of the small business network Enterprise Nation

‘Hearing stories of small business owners is one of his favourite things to do, and it he found it a joy being in a room of founders sharing their stories.  He enjoyed listening to the brilliant pitches of the entrepreneurs’ present’

The delegates learned so much from the journalists, as they generously shared information about how to work with them and others, and as you’ll read in the next blog, already several of the people who attended have already shared their stories nationally.
