Introducing… Enlightening Escapes!
For those who have kept up with Scott Media news in 2025, you will have heard me talking about a new opportunity I was taking. Whilst I had to keep it under wraps for a while, it was at the end of 2025, when Enlightening Escapes was announced.
For those who haven’t heard about this, this blog is for you!
Enlightening Escapes is a combined effort from myself, Lauren Roberts, and Janet Shreeve from Shreeve Care Services. Janet already had the concept and name ready, and it stayed dormant for a while. One day, it just so happened that Janet mentioned it to us. When we got talking about it seriously, we decided to make it work!
We were extremely excited to get Enlightening Escapes into the ‘real world’ and have people engage with our idea to go on a break while learning and developing their work and themselves and it all starts with our first events. We chose these to draw people to encapsulate the future of Enlightening Escapes and what the range we like to offer.
Our first event is ‘The Cuisine Escape: Thai Edition’ on Friday 6th February 2025. This is a private dining experience with MasterChef finalist, Sam Kaeokon.
Held at a private venue in Swindon for a maximum of twenty visitors, Sam will be cooking a buffet and presenting his favourite Thai dishes. Guests will be able to ask questions about his time on MasterChef as well as his featured Thai cuisine.
This escape is priced at £99. You must book in advance and refunds are not available.
My husband and I are massive fans of MasterChef and when we watched the past season, I absolutely loved watching Sam cook and when I heard him mention he was from Swindon and I just had to get in touch.
Sam is an extremely welcoming, and hospitable person, who came onto my podcast as that is when we had the opportunity to discuss Enlightening Escapes hosting an event with him and to be able to open bookings has been incredibly exciting.

Our second event is a little different…
‘The Visibility Escape: TikTok Edition’ on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March 2025. This is a creative weekend retreat at Bowood Hotel, Spa & Gold Resort, where attendees will discover how to make video content that feels natural, confident and effective.
This retreat offers hands-on editing session and expert-led workshops by Luke Hollingworth, Lauren Roberts, and Stephen Wade. Take this opportunity to develop your storytelling skills, grow your online presence, and enjoy a little luxury along the way.
This escape is priced at £699 per person (including accommodation, meals & workshops). Attendees can pay in full of in three instalments.
