More Men Who Inspire Me!

Last week I wrote about the amazing men who have impacts and inspired me throughout my years in business. Having met, worked and collaborated with these fantastic men, I know how important it is to acknowledge how their work and experience hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Here are some more inspirational men…

Paul Day can talk tech to the end of time and has a mastery of working with large companies and corporations with ease. I admire him for his journey from van driver to managing director and his commitment to helping clients stay safe and compliant online. More than that, this quiet man has raised thousands for charity through various personal challenges and also by being Father Christmas in his community every year (for well over 25 years) to support various community projects in Berkshire is unparallelled.

I love working with Jon White. Jon’s story around his original business, Gold Traders UK is astonishing. He went to America as an IT consultant and noticed lots of adverts for buying and selling gold at a time when this was unheard of in the UK. Returning home, he trained and opened his business in his garage and from there has developed one of the best precious metals businesses in the UK. Becoming the first to get Trusted Grader Status, Jon’s moral code that customers get fair value for their precious value is second to none. From those humble beginnings he has opened an antique shop in Royal Wooton Bassett and invested £3 million to open a modern high street auction house. Jon has many strings to his business bow and the way he works across all his businesses, and his honesty about the challenges, should inspire everyone.

Andrew Wilkinson believes health and safety at work is something every business needs to consider and that it should be a part of their business culture. That mindset makes him an ideal client and friend in business. For many people health and safety is a tick box exercise with policies that just collect dust, and only if something goes wrong are they dusted off and presented with evidence. For Andrew and his team, you have to breathe and live safety and care about people. He’s still young in business but with his career in health and safety at Heathrow Airport behind him, there’s no doubt he’s got bright future.

Alistair Greener has made it his mission to support companies who now face the fact that we have 4 generations in the workplace at the same time and that has never happened before. In fact, we have 8 generations alive at one time which this means that companies with staff need to consider how to communicate and work with people of very different ages, who have been brought up in very different environments. His understanding of this is unravelled with his new book, where explains why this is incredibly important. Good communication in any business is important and investing in it in 2026 and beyond will become even more critical.

These men are clear examples of multifaceted and kind people who are business makers, philanthropists and kind souls. In truth, this list could be longer, and I hope yours is just as long. Take the time to reach out to the men who inspire you!
