WHO ARE THE SPEAKERS AT THE NO BS MEDIA SUMMIT THIS YEAR?

Posted on April 20, 2026 by Categories: PR Tags: , ,

The No BS Media Summit returns in November with several interesting voices to share their thoughts and opinions on making business owners stand out in the world of all things public relations. As stated in previous blogs, the first day of the two-day event welcomes five journalists from around the world. The second day includes two of those journalists and we will be fortunate enough to welcome three brilliant speakers.

Gamal Turawa

The first speaker is Gamal Turawa, a human connection practitioner, public speaker and founder of G’Ology – the art of being human. After a 25-year career in the Metropolitan Police, he now works internally helping organisations strengthen trust, belonging and courageous communication by focusing on the human factors that influence performance. Drawing on a life shaped by diverse experiences across cultures and industries, Gamal helps leaders build environments where people feel psychologically safe enough to contribute fully. A vital skill needed in the working world. He is also the subject of the BAFTA- winning documentary The Black Cop, which continues to support conversations on leadership, identity and human connection.

Gamal grew up in foster care and believes this has had a large influence on his life. His philosophy embodies emotional safety in the workplace. He believes we should create environments where people feel safe enough to be honest, valued enough to contribute and supported enough to perform at their best. His approach combines professional insight from his career in the police and his lived experience navigating his own identity. This dual perspective helps business leaders understand the human factors that influence trust and communication, moving beyond policy to practical cultural change.

Rachel Bedgood

We’ll also be welcoming Rachel Bedgood, tech entrepreneur, background screening pioneer and business growth expert. From starting her business at just 23, to building a multi-million-pound enterprise, Rachel’s journey demonstrates how commitment, caring, and curiosity can transform a simple idea into extraordinary success. As the founder and CEO of Complete Background Screening (CBS), one of the UK’s largest background screening providers, she combines technical expertise with people-centred leadership to create a meaningful impact in business and beyond.

With over twenty years of experience in the background screening industry, Rachel has established CBS as a leader in its field, working with major government and public sector bodies, multi- national businesses and private sector organisations including G4S, ITV, Sky and BBC. Her innovative and efficient approach to data management and screening has made CBS the first choice for thousands of organisations across the UK.

Authorised and regulated by the Disclosure and Barring Service, Access Northern Ireland and the Scottish Criminal Records Office, Rachel’s company delivers robust screening with a signature rapid turnaround time through a personally managed service.

Rachel delivers an engaging and down- to -earth speaking style that combines practical business insights with inspiring personal stories. She fosters an authentic approach to speaking and inspires young entrepreneurs and established business owners alike. Rachel makes it her purpose to engage personally with as many people as she can, embodying her belief in the power of human connection. Her love of learning, improving and growing – coupled with her generous spirit in sharing knowledge – creates an infectious energy that inspires others to embrace their own true potential.

Rachel’s key message to everyone in business is ‘True success comes from having the strength to acknowledge what you don’t know, and the curiosity to learn it. Business growth isn’t just about leveraging your expertise, but creating opportunities that align with your values, nurture curiosity, and empower everyone around you to become the best they can be.’

Asha Clearwater

We will also be joined by Asha Clearwater, content coach, book mentor and publisher. Like Fiona, Asha has also worked as a journalist, helping business owners share their story with impact- from standout content to ghostwritten books. She is the founder of Turquoise Tiger Press.

Asha offers one to one coaching sessions, fortnightly or monthly to generate amazing content ideas for client’s social channels, blogs, videos, magazines, newspapers, books, PR and anywhere you need to be building a platform. She offers ‘crack your content power hours’, one to one PR training, a press kit and a LinkedIn ‘about’ bio. She helps people write and publish books but also helps business owners to get their words out into the world with heart, clarity and impact. As a former journalist and editor, she knows how to help shape stories that connect.
