A podcast update!

After running my podcast for three years, I’m still loving it and get very excited about my guests and I’m getting dangerously close to 5,000 downloads.
It’s modest especially after I interviewed historian Tom Holland earlier this year who co-hosts The Rest Is History and found out he has had 60 million! Let’s just say I tittered and shut up!
Podcasts are still rising in popularity. As of September this year, there are over 546 million podcast listeners worldwide. 47% of the US population (over 12), listen to a podcast at least once a month.
In the UK alone, podcasts have a weekly reach of 19% among adults with the highest reach among 25 – 34-year-olds. The gender split for podcast listeners is 58% male and 42% female.
More and more businesses are setting up their own podcasts too, recognising that they can target their ideal customers on a more personal level by building up their brand loyalty and trust.
Why might you decide, as a business owner to start a podcast?:
· To be visible, to push your business forward, and so people can find you in different places. Brand awareness.
· To share your expertise and knowledge – a thought leader.
· To showcase other people in the same profession as you, which reflects on the fact that you ‘know’ the right people.
· To generate business.
· A collaboration space.
· Show your personality and passion for the subject.

Up to the minute stats for my podcast:
